SPEECH STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR STATE!

    HARLAN -- Harlan Community School’s Large Group Speech team, under the direction of Ms. Lisa Hagemeier, participated in the Iowa High School Speech Association’s Contest on Saturday, Jan. 23.  There were eight events with six qualifying for state on February 6.  The categories and participants are as follows:  Musical Theater -- Mackenzie Goshorn and Elizabeth Stroud - division I;  Musical Theater -- Caitlin Bissen, Katelyn Kluver, and Angelina Marti - division I; Group Improvisation -- Emily Juhl and Charlotte Lotenschtein - division I; Group Improvisation -- Steven Bailey and Rebecca Sparandeo -  division I;  TV News - Scott Kintner, Caitlin Yamada, and Haley Koch - division I;  Short Film - Scott Kintner, Caitlin Yamada, and Steven Bailey - division I;  Group Improvisation -- Haley Koch and Reagan Hansen - division II; Short Film -- Sarah Goedken, Bre Auen, Andrew Shelton, and Elizabeth Burris -- division II.
