Taggers vandalize new county bridge

Crimestoppers offering cash reward for information

COUNTY – Shelby County Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of persons involved in the tagging of a brand new bridge along 1400th St. recently.
Shelby County Engineer Dan Ahart said Class of 2016/18 was written in spray paint on the bridge at the intersection of 1400th St. and Orange Road, likely during the week of June 29.  The vandalism was noticed on June 30.
“It’s just disappointing and unfortunate,” said Ahart.  “This bridge was only put back into service a year ago, so it’s relatively new.  People need to realize that it isn’t just a harmless act, it costs money to fix this.”
