James Sampson, 74

    WALNUT -- James “Aug” Sampson, 74, Walnut, died June 20 at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center.
    Family greeted friends Sunday, June 23 from 5-7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca.  Burial will be at a later date in the Layton Township Cemetery.
    Sampson is survived by brothers David (Carol) Sampson of Hancock, John (Kay) Sampson of Walnut, Arnie (Carol) Sampson of Pikeville, NC, Wayne (Darlene) Sampson of Underwood and Joseph (Margaret) Sampson of Elliott; sisters Mary Willie of Folson, LA, Susan Libby of Walnut and Martha (Randy) Hargens of Walnut; and sister-in-law Barb Sampson of Avoca.
