1A District Baseball: CR-B ends Wolves’ season, 10-1

COON RAPIDS (July 16) -- IKM-Manning finished the baseball season with a record of 7-17 following last Tuesday’s 10-1 loss at Coon Rapids-Bayard in a Class 1A, District 16 semifinal.
The ninth-ranked Crusaders (27-4) broke the game open with a pair of early crooked numbers, scoring three runs in the second inning and five in the third to go up 8-0. IKM-M freshman pitcher Max Nielsen allowed seven hits and eight runs in two and two-thirds innings, but only three of the runs were earned. Nielsen walked three batters and also struck out three.

Nolan Ramsey and Dane Blom both singled for the Wolves’ only hits. Ramsey scored the team’s lone run in the fourth and Grant Stracke had the RBI.
The Wolves graduated seven seniors off this year’s team in Dane Blom, Alex Lingle, Jerod Henkelman, Grant Stracke, Ethan Carter, Keaton Allmon and Tyler Henkelman.
