2A Regional Softball: Wolves top T-C, bow out at West Monona

 IRWIN (July 10) -- IKM-Manning finished the softball season 10-16 overall following a 12-2 home win vs. Tri-Center Monday night and a 10-0 loss at fourth-ranked West Monona Wednesday in Class 2A regional play. Both games lasted five innings.
 The Wolves took full control of Monday’s first round game by scoring six runs in the bottom of the fourth. Freshman Bianca Cadwell pitched a five-inning one-hitter with three walks and seven strikeouts, allowing no earned runs.
 IKM-M totaled six hits and also drew seven walks. Joanna Freese and Emily Kerkhoff both had a pair of hits and scored three runs while Cadwell doubled and had two RBI. Zoey Melton drove in three runs without a hit and Lexi Branning added a single.
 West Monona pitcher Lexi Lander threw a five-inning perfect game with eight strikeouts against the Wolves Wednesday night. The Spartans plated five runs in the second inning and finished the game with five more in the fifth.
