Cougars hold off Spartans
ELK HORN -- The CAM boys basketball team built a 17-9 lead after one quarter and outlasted Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton 57-53 in Rolling Valley Conference action Friday night.
Thomas and Nate Hensley led the Cougars with 18 and 11 points, respectively, while Nick Holste added nine points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, four assists and three steals. The Cougars improved to 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the RVC.
Trey Nelson paced the Spartans’ eight-player scoring attack with 15 points, followed by Josh Pettepier with 10, Cole Burmeister nine, Dakota Rold six, Trever Schulz five and Cole Madsen four.
