Cyclone boys roll past Riverside, 8-0

HARLAN (April 24) -- The Harlan Community boys soccer team may have needed a match like the one that took place Tuesday afternoon at Merrill Field.
With four of their first six games decided by just one goal - two in overtime - the 16th-ranked (2A) Cyclones took control early against Riverside and had some fun in a commanding 8-0 win over the Bulldogs.
Dylan Eshelman and Andres Cavalieri both netted a pair of first-half goals as HCHS scored seven times in the first 27 minutes and cruised to 6-1 overall. Riverside dropped to 3-4.
The Cyclones bounced back well from Saturday’s 2-1 loss at Lewis Central, which came on the heels of a 1-0 double-overtime win over Denison last Thursday.
Eshelman and Cavalieri both scored twice while Eli Boldan, Michael Heithoff, Levi Culp and Cole Kramer all added one goal. Assist leaders included Kramer and Jordan Fink with two each.
