Cyclone Camp of Champions kicks off football season

 HARLAN -- With the 2018 season opener just three weeks away, the Harlan Community football team is holding its annual Cyclone Camp of Champions this week (July 30-August 3) at Merrill Field.
 According to HCHS head coach Curt Bladt, this year’s high school camp includes 80-85 players while the four-day middle school camp for grades 7-8 includes 48 players. The Patriot League (grades 3-6) also held camp on Tuesday and Thursday nights, drawing 47 players as eight members of the high school team helped the coaches with instruction.
 High school practices will open across the state on Monday, August 6. HCHS will hold a public scrimmage on Thursday, Aug. 16 and the Cyclones will host Denison-Schleswig in the 2018 season opener Friday, Aug. 24, at 7:00 p.m.
