DC-G wins in Harlan behind 15 hits

 HARLAN (July 9) -- Dallas Center-Grimes broke open a tie game with four runs in the top of the sixth and held off Harlan Community 7-5 in non-conference baseball action last Tuesday night.
 Trailing 7-2, HCHS rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh before the game ended on Derec Weyer’s hard line drive to shortstop with a runner on base.
 DC-G (21-10) was led by six-hole hitter Bryce Jermier, who belted a pair of home runs and finished 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI. Isaac Boley also had a three-hit game for the Mustangs, who totaled 15 hits (13 singles, 2 HR) off Cyclone pitchers Tyler Schaben (1-3) and Trey Gross.
 Jermier tied the game at 2-2 with a two-run bomb off Schaben in the fourth and added a solo shot against Gross in the seventh.
 Reliever Caleb Spence opened the door for a Harlan rally in the seventh with two walks and a hit-by-pitch to the first three batters. The next three Cyclones all drove in a run - Connor Bruck single, Luke Schaben ground out and Isaiah Ahrenholtz sacrifice fly - before Weyer lined out to end the game.
 Brenden Bartley went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for HCHS while Weyer also doubled and scored.
