Exira-EHK girls top Wolverines 72-49 at Wells Fargo, now 7-0 overall

 DES MOINES -- A 25-9 first-quarter burst paved the way for another double-digit Spartan victory December 23 as the Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton girls defeated Nodaway Valley 72-49 at Wells Fargo Arena.
 Freshman Tatum Grubbs (18 points) and seniors Kealey Nelson (18) and Sophia Peppers (17) combined for 53 points as the fourth-ranked Spartans entered Christmas break with a perfect record of 7-0. All seven games featured a winning margin of 10 points or higher, including six decided by between 23 and 42.
 Nodaway Valley (7-2) also put three players in double digits as Corinne Bond scored 16 points, Alyssa Davis had 13 and Annie Herr added 12.
 The Spartans came up with 19 steals in the game, led by six from Peppers and four each by Nelson and Jacey Anthofer. Peppers also blocked three shots.
