HCHS boys win TJ scrimmage

 HARLAN (Nov. 20) -- The Harlan Community boys basketball team hosted Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson for an Iowa Hall of Pride scrimmage Tuesday night, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 55-43 in a tune up for next Friday’s season opener at Shenandoah.
 A non-perishable food drive for West Central Community Action was held in conjunction with the game.
 HCHS took a 12-4 lead late in the first quarter, went up 26-17 at halftime and led by about 20 in the fourth quarter before TJ rallied.
 Senior Brett Sears paced the Cyclones with 19 points, followed by Brady Wagner with nine, Johnathan Monson eight, Connor Bruck seven, Jonathan Cheek five, Jake McLaughlin four, Braden Fink two and Taymon Klinkefus one.
 HCHS outscored Thomas Jefferson 14-1 from the free throw line, taking advantage of 21 more attempts.
