HCHS tennis squads place in five brackets at H-10 meet

 OMAHA, NEB. (April 30) -- Eight Harlan Community players scored team points by placing in the top six in singles or doubles at last Monday’s Hawkeye Ten Conference Tennis Tournament. The co-ed meet was held at the Koch Tennis Center (Tranquility Park) in Omaha.
 The HCHS girls scored in three out of four brackets and totaled 13 points to place sixth out of 11 teams. The Cyclone boys scored in two brackets and tied for seventh place with nine points.
 Place-winners for the HCHS girls included senior Nicole Lange in number one singles (fourth), senior Taylor Andersen and sophomore Bobbie Schechinger in number two doubles (fourth) and senior Amelia Juhl and sophomore Elise Juhl in number one doubles (sixth).
 Place-winners for the HCHS boys included senior Bailey Schmitz in number two singles (fourth) and the number one doubles team of senior Kaleb Kaster and junior Jonny Cheek (fifth).
 Shenandoah won the girls team title by a 30-22 margin over Glenwood, placing first in three out of four brackets. Atlantic won the boys title 25-22 over Glenwood, placing second or third in each bracket.
