Homecoming romp: Vikings 48, Bulldogs 3

AVOCA (Sept. 21) -- Blake Osbahr threw four touchdown passes and Gabe Pauley ran for three scores last Friday night to lead the second-ranked AHSTW football team past Riverside 48-3 in the Class A, District 9 opener for both squads.
The Vikings (5-0) scored all of their points in the first half on Homecoming night before playing their reserves with a running clock the rest of the way. Riverside (1-4) finished with minus-18 yards rushing in the game.
Osbahr had a highly-efficient night at quarterback for AHSTW, completing 9-of-11 pass attempts for 163 yards and TD passes to Drake Partridge (21 yards), Brayton Tuma (19), Ben Ehlers (16) and Gabe Madsen (6). Tuma led the Vikings with four receptions for 75 yards while Partridge had two for 52.
The Bulldog defense was unable to slow down Pauley in the rushing game either. The senior all-stater carried the ball 16 times for 188 yards and three touchdowns and also made five tackles on defense.
