Lady Vike runners finish in 1A top 40

 FORT DODGE (Oct. 27) -- AHSTW sophomores Julia Kock and Chloe Falkena both finished in the top one-third of the Class 1A girls field on Saturday afternoon, placing 32nd and 39th, respectively, in the State Cross Country Championships at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course. Kock finished the five-kilometer race in 21:08 and Falkena’s time was 21:19.
 Both girls qualified for state as individuals this year after competing as part of the Lady Vikes’ state meet team in 2017. Falkena placed 35th last year while Kock was 96th. Kock improved her state meet time by more than a minute compared to last year.
