Noeth tops T-C tourney field at 106

Cyclones place second as a team behind Mo. Valley

 TRI-CENTER -- Harlan Community freshman Ronan Noeth was the champion at 106 pounds and four other HCHS wrestlers finished as runners-up Saturday as the Cyclones placed second out of 11 teams at the Tri-Center Trojan Invitational.
 Missouri Valley led the field with five champions and 222 points, followed by HCHS (206), West Monona (140) and Treynor (130.5). East Mills claimed three champions but finished fifth as a team.
 The Cyclones, who trailed Mo. Valley by less than 10 points for much of the day, won six of 11 matches during the final round but went 1-4 in championship finals, including two head-to-head losses vs. the Big Reds.
 Noeth started the finals off with a first-period pin over West Monona’s Ian Pinkelman, while Brandon Trevino (120), Oscar Knowles (126), Elias Shaeffer (132) and Nick Foss (145) each lost their championship match to place second.
