Wolves’ fourth-quarter shooting woes costly vs. Cards

MANNING -- The same perimeter shots that triggered IKM-Manning’s first-half rally refused to fall when the Wolves needed them again late versus Treynor.
The untimely cold snap proved costly as IKM-M was outscored 13-7 in the fourth quarter of last Friday’s 63-55 home loss to the Cardinals.
The matchup of top-five ranked, undefeated rivals was as competitive as usual - featuring five ties and four lead changes after the Wolves erased an early 21-10 deficit - but Treynor never trailed after using a 6-0 run to go up 41-37 in the third quarter.
Ben Wegner’s personal 8-2 IKM-Manning run - all on interior baskets - tied the score at 50 early in the fourth, but the Cardinals again scored six straight points and the Wolves managed just five the rest of the way as they were unable to knock down several open outside jumpers.
