Weddings - Dr. Christopher and Mary Knudtson

    ST. LOUIS, MO -- Mary Diane Madden and Dr. Christopher Anton Knudtson were married in a private double ring ceremony at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in St. Louis, MO on October 17, 2020. The 11 a.m. Mass was celebrated by the bride’s brother, Reverend Mark Madden with concelebrants Rev. Samuel Inameti, and Rev. Nick Smith, counselor to the couple and the bride’s high school priest.
    Parents of the couple are William and Patricia Madden, St. Louis, MO; and Lynn and Maria Knudtson, Omaha.
    The groom’s grandparents are Shirley Knudtson, Harlan, and the late Arnold Knudtson.
    The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. Mary’s  pearl earrings were a wedding gift from the groom who also designed her engagement ring. The bride’s attendant was her sister, Jane Goetz, St. Louis, The groom’s attendant was his brother, Peter Knudtson, Alexandria, VA.
    The bride and groom canceled their larger wedding and reception due to the current pandemic, but friends and family across the country and in Italy viewed the wedding online. The ceremony was followed by an outdoor catered family picnic at the Lily Pond Pavilion in Tower Grove Park.
    The bride is a 2005 graduate of Rosati-Kain High School and a 2009 graduate of Saint Louis University where she earned a degree in clinical laboratory science. She also was awarded a certificate in blood bank management from Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Mary is employed as a blood scientist with the American Red Cross.         
    The groom is a 2000 graduate of Creighton Prep High School and a 2004 graduate of Saint Louis University where he earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry.
    Christopher was awarded a master’s degree from the University of Kansas, and a PhD. in chemistry and pharmaceutical science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is employed as a water chemist for the City of St. Louis and an adjunct faculty member at St. Louis Community College.
    The couple honeymooned with a brief trip to Table Rock Lake in Missouri. Christopher and Mary are at home in St. Louis.
