David Burns, 78

    ELK HORN -- David Burns, 78, Elk Horn, formerly of Oakland, died March 18 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.
    Services will be held Wednesday, March 23 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca with burial in the Graceland Cemetery at Avoca.  Visitation will be Tuesday, March 22 from 3-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Burns is survived by daughters Lanette Peterson of Avoca, Michelle (Doug) Heilig of Avoca, Teresa (Francis) Jordan of Fort Madison, Kristine (Christopher) Scholl of St. Louis, MO, Sandy (Eugene, Jr.) Butcher of Avoca, and Tina Burns; son Michael (Gwen) Burns of Wahiawa, HI; brother Richard (Nita) Burns of Mankato, KS; sister Karen (Dick) Witchley of Fort Worth, TX; special friend Dorothy “Dottie” Johnson of Elk Horn; four step-children and eight step-grandchildren; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
