Gary Lee Madsen

Gary Lee Madsen was born on March 5, 1957, at the Audubon Community Hospital, Audubon, Iowa. He passed away on December 31, 2023, at the Atlantic Specialty Care Center, Atlantic, Iowa.
Gary was the son of Thomas S. Madsen and Irma C. (Lange) Madsen. Gary was the youngest of six Madsen children. After graduating from Audubon High School, Gary completed the Building Trades curriculum at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny.
During his working career, Gary was involved in residential construction and remodeling.  Gary also spent most of his construction years working with concrete tear out and repouring and finishing. Gary was both self-employed and worked for other contractors over his working years.
Gary was loved by and was a friend to many.  He had a very good sense of humor and was always willing to help a friend.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Elaine J. Leick, and brother-in-law, Jens D. Jensen.
Gary is survived by his brother, Howard Madsen and wife Vernice of Hilton Head, SC; sister, Carol Jensen of Yorkville, IL; brother, Alan Madsen and wife Lori of Spirit Lake, IA; and brother, Warren Madsen and wife Marie of Newton, IA; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; other relatives and friends.
