Jerry Mez, 81

    AVOCA -- Jerry Warner Mez, 81, Avoca, died September 29 at Hansen House Memory Care Assisted Living.
    Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca with burial in the Graceland Cemetery.  Visitation is Friday, Oct. 8 from 2-8 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca.
    Mez is survived by his wife, Joyce (Schmid) Mez of Avoca; sons Jay Mez of Council Bluffs and Joel (Kim) Mez of Las Vegas, NV; daughter Joy (Jon) Ludvigsen of Fremont, NE; sister Janet Johnson of Seattle, WA; nephew Derek (Cary Chavis) Johnson of Washington, DC; stepsisters Lavonne Gerit of Omaha, NE and Sally Millsapps of Colorado; step-sister-in-law Dora Rock of Avoca; other nieces and nephews; and seven grandchildren.
