Judy Jane Robinson

October 20, 1947– December 6, 2022

Judy Jane Robinson, daughter of Russell and Lillian (Blakley) Hansen, was born on October 20, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska.  She was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Tennant.  Judy attended grade school in Tennant and graduated from Shelby-Tennant High School in 1965.  On February 26, 1966, Judy was united in marriage to Dave Robinson at the Shelby Methodist Church.  To this union 3 children were born: Jeff, Scott and Kaleigh.
Judy was talented with flowers and arranging them. This led to many craft fairs where she enjoyed sharing her gifts. She painted as well and we all probably have something she has made in our houses. She made dolls and was so talented in creating unique snowmen and santas. She had a wonderful generous spirit and loved giving to her family and friends. But the most precious thing we all remember about Judy is her laughter. Sometimes she laughed so hard she cried with her many friends. The craft fairs were a big part of sharing her creations. She belonged to the women’s group-Bykota-’Be Ye Kind to One Another’ and she was the epitome of that. She was Kind to everyone she ever met. She spent so many nights working with the women of Bykota on projects for the community, Cartsen’s Farms, pies, Lemonade and many other spiritual gifts for others.
She loved her flowers and plants and taught others the joy of gardening. She had a talent for knowing what grew best and her flower gardens were a showplace.
Judy loved to shop! And she was a professional!! Hobby Lobby, of course, was a favorite. Dave followed her around the store to monitor her spending. She loved her children and not so long after, her grandchildren, whom she loved more than anything. She loved to follow them in all their endeavors, sports, music and any activity they were in. And again, she loved to spend time with them and LAUGH!
Judy would want all of us to remember the special memories we made with her, whether as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, or friend. She will hold a special place in all our hearts because of the unique memories we each have of her. Her loving spirit is a gift we have all been given.
On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, Judy passed away having attained the age of 75 years, 1 month and 16 days.  She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Lillian; sister Madeline; brother Bernard “Bud”; brothers-in-law Larry Schnack, Doug Robinson, Rich Robinson and Kane Bordner; sister-in-law Liz Hansen.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Dave Robinson of Shelby, Iowa; children Jeff (Andrea) Robinson of Urbandale, Iowa; Scott (Sue) Robinson of Shelby, Iowa; Kaleigh (Travis) Lane of Avoca, Iowa; 8 grandchildren: Mac (wife Shelby), Sydney, Halle, Zach, Madison, Charlie, Kaeden and Brynnleigh; 1 great-grandson, Jonah; sister Carol Schnack of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; brother and sisters-in-law Bob and Julie Robinson of Fremont, Nebraska; Marci Robinson of Shelby, Iowa; Connie Robinson of Harlan, Iowa; Rod and Margaret Robinson of Shelby, Iowa; nieces and nephews, other family and many friends.
