    HARLAN -- Kristine Schmitz, 54, Harlan, died Monday, Oct. 4.
    Services were held Saturday, Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.
    Schmitz is survived by children David (Jennifer) of Slater, Matthew (Melissa) of Greenwood, IN, Zachary (Madison) of West Des Moines, Luke of North Charleston, SC, and Grace of Harlan; grandchildren J.J., Mariah, Wyatt, Oliver and Samuel; mother Linda Kafton of Harlan; siblings John (Judi) Kafton of Idaho and Kaja (Julie) Kafton of Texas; and sister-in-law Wanda Kafton of Virginia.
