AHSTW defeats Southwest Valley 25-12

AVOCA (Oct. 18) -- The AHSTW football team picked up its fourth win in the last five games Friday night, beating Southwest Valley 25-12 to improve to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in Class A, District 9.
Jackson Woltmann led the Viking offense with 16 rushing attempts for 107 yards and one touchdown. Denver Pauley added 79 yards on the ground and Joey Goins caught four passes for 48 yards from Blake Holst, who also threw a nine-yard TD pass to Raydden Grobe.
The Vikings came up with five takeaways on defense. Gavyn Fischer, Goins and Michael Shiffer each recovered a fumble and Ethan Hoepner and Joel Sampson had interceptions. Tackle leaders included Fischer with 11 and Jaedan Rasmussen, Sampson and Shiffer all with nine.
