Boys state basketball tournament underway

 DES MOINES -- The IKM-Manning boys basketball team played its first state tournament game since 2010 on Monday morning, facing West Hancock in a 10:30 a.m. Class 1-A quarterfinal at Wells Fargo Arena.
 A victory Monday would put the 7th-ranked, fifth-seeded Wolves (22-2) in Thursday’s 1-A semifinal round vs. top-seeded Danville (24-1) or St. Albert (15-9) in a game that will also tip off at 10:30 in the morning.
 The opposite half of the 1-A bracket features Grand View Christian vs. South O’Brien and defending champion Gladbrook-Reinbeck vs. Jesup in first-round action.
