Chad and Janelle Sears inducted into HCS Booster Club Hall of Fame

 HARLAN -- Chad and Janelle Sears of Westphalia were recently honored by the Harlan Community Booster Club Board of Directors as the 2020-21 inductees to the Harlan Community Athletic Booster Club Hall of Fame. Chad and Janelle (center) were recognized during halftime of the Cyclones’ football game vs. Lewis Central on August 27, joined on the track by booster club board members Josh Leinen (left) and Matt Schmitz (right).
 Chad and Janelle have been very active booster club members, serving on the board of directors from 2008-2019. They served many years as President and also were very instrumental working on several improvement projects at the JJ Jensen baseball and softball fields during their tenure. They are the parents of three sons: Dillon, Brett and Cade.
 Chad and Janelle are the definition of true servant leaders as they continue to volunteer to help in the concession stand at athletic events and also volunteer to coach youth baseball and club volleyball. One of the most impressive things that shows their commitment to Harlan Community is how Chad coached Little Cyclone traveling baseball teams before his sons were old enough to play and is continuing to coach the youth teams even after Dillon and Brett went on to play college baseball. Janelle has done the same, helping with the Harlan youth club volleyball program.
