Cougars handle Spartans in 8-Player game

 ANITA (Oct. 1) -- CAM senior Lane Spieker surpassed 5,000 career rushing yards and had a hand in eight touchdowns Friday night as the top-ranked Cougars beat Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton 66-6 in an 8-Player, District 10 football game.
 The Spartans made it 20-6 on Trey Petersen’s 11-yard touchdown pass to Derrek Kommes midway through the second quarter, but CAM scored three times in the last 3:23 of the first half to take a commanding 42-6 advantage.
 Petersen threw for 51 yards and rushed for 26 as Exira-EHK dropped to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in district play. Tyler Kingery finished with three receptions for 33 yards and ran for 19 more.
 CAM, now 6-0 overall and 4-0 in District 10, was led by Spieker all night. The senior quarterback carried the ball 25 times for 297 yards and six TDs while completing 4-of-7 passes for 116 yards and two more scores. Ethan Follmann also threw a touchdown pass for CAM.
