Cyclone squads finish 13th, 15th

FORT DODGE -- On a cool, damp afternoon at the State Cross Country Meet, Harlan Community posted some favorable times on the board but was unable to make much noise against the best teams Class 3-A has to offer.
Finishing in near-identical fashion as last year, the Cyclone boys placed 13th out of 15 state qualifiers and the girls took 15th Saturday at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course north of Fort Dodge.
Led by junior Reagan Hansen’s 34th-place effort in the boys race, four Cyclone runners (two boys, two girls) finished in the top half of their respective field while six others finished among the bottom 20. Both Harlan teams placed one spot below their pre-state meet ranking as the boys scored a 280 and the girls scored a 305.
The Cyclone boys were making their third consecutive state meet appearance while the girls finished their season in Fort Dodge for the 11th time in 12 years.
