Cyclones pummel Tigers with 34-4 start, win by 52

 HARLAN (Dec. 20) -- The Harlan Community boys raced out to a 34-4 second-quarter lead Friday night before finishing off Red Oak 69-17 in a Hawkeye Ten boys basketball game.
 HCHS played a half-court zone defense throughout but did press the Tigers early and scored several first-half baskets off turnovers. The Cyclones led 38-7 at halftime and used 15 players in the second half, improving to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
 Connor Frame (three 3-pointers) and Michael Heithoff led HCHS with 12 points each, Isaiah Ahrenholtz scored nine points off the bench, Aidan Hall had eight points and Connor Bruck and Johnathan Monson added six each. Monson led the team with six steals, five rebounds and three assists. Will McLaughlin had four points and four steals in his first action of the season.
 Sophomore Baylor Bergren hit three treys and scored nine points for Red Oak, now 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the H-10. The Tigers turned the ball over 21 times and made just 6-of-26 field goals (23 percent).
