Cyclones win fourth straight game

On Thursday, the HCHS girls varsity soccer team took on the Creston Panthers and dismantled them, 9-0. With this win, it marks their fourth consecutive victory and moves their overall record to 8-5.

“It was another chilly and rainy evening in Creston last night,” said HCHS Head Soccer Coach Jared Boysen. “The defense continued to play really well last night not allowing Creston any shots in the game.”

Two girls on the roster including sophomore Darbie Argotsinger and senior Raegen Wicks had big nights each scoring three goals for the Cyclones.

“Darbie Argotsinger was strong for us scoring a hat trick with three goals and one assist on the night,” he said. “Raegen Wicks also had a great night getting a hat trick as well and continued passing well with two assists.”

With the final stretch of the season approaching for the Cyclones, Boysen acknowledged a player on his team who he hopes will be able to help them out.

“Aubrey Schwieso was not able to play due to an ankle injury during the Denison game and hopefully, we will be able to have her back next week as we finish out the regular season against Logan-Magnolia, AHSTW and Nodaway Valley.”

The Cyclones will play the Logan-Magnolia Panthers, 3-10, Monday at home at 5 p.m.
