District opener: HCHS vs. D-S

 HARLAN -- The Harlan Community boys basketball team will host Denison-Schleswig in the first round of Class 3-A district play on Monday, February 22.
 The Iowa High School Athletic Association announced its postseason seedings and pairings for Class 3-A and 4-A on Monday. HCHS earned the top seed in District 1 based on its 13-2 record in the first 15 games. As the No. 1 seed, Harlan will host two district semifinals on February 22 - Greene County vs. Carroll at 6:30 p.m., followed by HCHS vs. Denison at 8:00. The winners will meet Thursday, Feb. 25, at a site to be determined.
 District 2 of Class 3-A features top-seeded MOC-Floyd Valley vs. Le Mars and Bishop Heelan vs. Sergeant Bluff-Luton. The district champions will meet in a Substate final Monday, Feb. 29, at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City.
