Comments from Head Coach Willie Baughman
“This year for girls golf we would’ve had 11 girls, (led by) Haley Manz and Kayla Powers as seniors on the varsity team. Haley and Kayla would have been fourth-year golfers and I expected big things from them. Haley would have been my number one golfer. Junior Jocelyn Cheek would have been the number two golfer and Kayla was in line for the number three golfer. I was expecting big things from freshman Timber Svendsen. I will be looking forward to seeing what Jocelyn and Timber do next year.
“The girls golf team was also expecting Jenny Springman and Cierra Hoegh to take major steps forward from last year. I was excited to see what type of year all the new girls would have. I think we would’ve had a great year and had a great chance to win tournaments, win the Hawkeye Ten Conference and also go to the state tournament as a team.”
