“The Cyclone girls were looking forward to being very strong in many areas on the track and in the field. We were expecting a well-rounded attack in the sprint and distance relays as well as covering all the open events on the track. The throwers were looking very impressive early and our jumpers were starting to get dialed in and ready for competition. Our hurdlers had rededicated themselves over last summer, trained hard through the winter and were looking forward to some big improvements this season. Our long sprints, mid-distance, and distance runners took virtually no time off from the end of cross country in hopes of racing fast early.
“The girls continue to train on their own and are hopeful there could be an opportunity to compete in some capacity later this summer. We will keep our fingers crossed.”
