HCHS Boys Varsity Track and Field takes home fifth at Wildcat Relays

On Tuesday, The HCHS boys varsity track and field team competed in the Wildcat Relays at Carlisle High School and took home fifth place with a total of 73 points. Head coach Sam Brummer was very proud of how his boys competed.

“We had our best meet of the season,” Brummer said. “Our 4x1 was .01 off the school record and our 4x2 (same as 4x1) had a not so good handoff which cost us time, but we ended up closing great in the final three legs for the win and have the third fastest time in school history.”

Brummer highlighted a few players on this roster that had special nights, including an individual who took home a personal record.

“Our 400 runners led by Jacob Birch had a great night as we cut a lot of time on all of our 400's,” he said. “Connor Frame also had a PR in the long jump.”

The boys next track and field meet will be Thursday through Saturday at the 112th Drake Relays at 9 a.m. in Des Moines.
