HCHS Girls Tennis drops match to Clarinda

On Thursday night, the HCHS girls varsity tennis team battled a tough, undefeated Clarinda Cardinals team, 6-0, and they lost 9-0.

“We knew tonight's match against Clarinda would be challenging as they are undefeated in the conference right now, and we were not disappointed,” said HCHS Head Tennis Coach Katie Arentson. “We had some great matches across the board.”

While varsity had a tough night, Arentson acknowledged other players on the roster who stood out.

“Unfortunately we could not come up with any Varsity wins, but McGuinness and Jones gave the number three doubles team a run for their money with some of the individual games going to numerous deuce points in a row,” she said. “They finished with our highest scoring match of 4-8.”
