HCHS Varsity Soccer wins via Mercy Rule

After losing their previous match to the Lewis Central Titans, 10-0, the HCHS girls varsity soccer team turned the tables and won over the East Sac County Raiders by a final of 10-0 Monday night.

“Good to rebound tonight,” said Head Coach Jared Boysen. “We had a lot of different people step up.”

At halftime, the Cyclones led by five points over the Raiders. Boysen emphasized the importance of not losing focus and continuing the play strong.

“Just keep passing, keep possessing and try to keep it on their end,” he said.

With this victory, the team moves their record to 4-4 on the season. Their next match will take place Tuesday against the Underwood Eagles who are 4-2-1 on the season.

“We’ve got two tough ones, especially tomorrow and Friday,” he added. “Underwood is a really good team. It was good to get this momentum. We need to keep doing the same things that we did in this one in those two games as well.”
