HCHS wins three matches at “Master Blaster” tourney

 ROCKWELL CITY (Sept. 11) -- The Harlan Community volleyball team finished with a 3-2 record at Saturday’s South Central Calhoun “Master Blaster” Tournament held at Rockwell City.
 HCHS (10-5 overall) opened the day with a 23-21, 21-18 win over Ridge View, which is ranked 13th in Class 2A. The Cyclones lost their next two matches against 12th-ranked (2A) Kuemper Catholic (14-21, 15-21) and East Sac County (18-21, 18-21). They finished with wins over South Central Calhoun (28-26, 21-16) and Kingsley-Pierson (21-9, 19-21, 15-7).
