Home court is HCHS girls’ path to state

 HARLAN -- The Harlan Community girls basketball team will need to win just two home games to return to Wells Fargo Arena and defend its back-to-back Class 4-A state championships.
 The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union last week released its regional pairings for Class 4-A. The top-ranked Cyclones (17-1) will receive a first-round bye, then host either Bishop Heelan (9-10) or Denison-Schleswig (7-12) in a Region 1 semifinal on Saturday, February 20, at 7:00 p.m.
 As the top seed, HCHS will also host the February 23 regional final if they win the previous game. The bottom half of the bracket includes Spencer (recently a top 15 team), Le Mars and Storm Lake.
