IKM-Manning netters sweep Audubon

 MANNING (Sept. 26) -- The IKM-Manning volleyball team picked up its first Western Iowa Conference win of the season last Thursday night with a sweep of Audubon, winning 25-19, 25-19, 25-22. The Wolves improved to 5-16 overall and 1-4 in the WIC.
 “Tonight we played well as a team. Each member stepped up their game,” said IKM-M head coach Kathy Lage.
 The Wolves finished with a solid kill efficiency of .182 and served 86 percent with 12 aces against 10 errors.
 Emily Kerkhoff led a balanced kill ledger with eight and also had a team-high seven digs. Lexi Branning tallied seven kills and four digs, Barry had six kills (.400 efficiency) and Muhlbauer added four kills.
 Miranda Benton served 15-for-16 and led the Wolves with five aces. Branning served three aces (10/12) while Barry (12/13) and Mya Nelson (11/14) had two each. Benton set 14 assists and Bianca Cadwell had nine.
 IKM-M won easily in set one but had to battle in the final two sets. The Wolves turned an 11-4 deficit into a 25-19 win in set two, outscoring the Wheelers 21-8. Set three was close throughout.
