Lady Vikes top Wheelers in four, finish 3-5 in WIC

 AVOCA (Oct. 8) -- School record holders Kinsey Scheffler and Paige Osweiler added to their career marks with 21 kills and 24 digs, respectively, Tuesday night as the AHSTW volleyball team wrapped up regular season Western Iowa Conference play with a 3-1 home win over Audubon.
 The Lady Vikes dominated the first two sets, dropped a tight set three but bounced back to finish off the Wheelers 25-14, 25-8, 23-25, 25-20.
 By winning its last two matches, AHSTW (17-11 overall) finished 3-5 in the WIC and basically clinched the sixth seed for next week’s conference tournament.
 Scheffler’s 21 kills against Audubon came with a solid efficiency of .340 as she put 42-of-47 attacks in play. She added three blocks and nine digs. Osweiler served 13-of-15 in addition to her 24 digs.
 The Lady Vikes also got seven kills from Natalie Hagadon, followed by Megan Wise with six (.364), Kailey Jones five and Sydney Zimmerman four. Zimmerman also had a team-high five blocks.
