Schaben to continue softball career at Iowa State

 HARLAN -- Watch Logan Schaben play for very long on the softball diamond and it’s easy to envision her skill set transferring from high school to the Division I level of the NCAA.
 • Fluid swing and bat speed - check.
 • Instincts and range in the field - check.
 • Rocket arm - check.
 Iowa State University saw all those things in Schaben at an early age, coaxing Harlan Community’s shortstop to make a verbal commitment during the spring of her sophomore year in 2014.
 A year and a half later Schaben made it official, signing her national letter of intent last Wednesday (Nov. 11) to continue her softball career at ISU. Logan is the daughter of Gary and Jackie Schaben, rural Portsmouth, and the third in a line of four sisters to become standout softball players at HCHS.
