Volleyball: Tigers sweep HCHS

 RED OAK (Sept. 28) -- Harlan Community suffered its fourth straight Hawkeye Ten Conference volleyball loss on Tuesday night, recording zero ace serves and no blocks in a 25-17, 25-9, 25-17 defeat at Red Oak.
 The Cyclones, who have now lost eight of their last 10 matches, fell to 12-14 overall and 2-4 in conference play. They will have a week off to prepare for Tuesday’s triangular at Council Bluffs St. Albert (4:30 p.m.) vs. the No. 12 (1A) Saintes and fifth-ranked (4A) Glenwood.
 HCHS committed 27 attack errors in just three sets against the Tigers (12-9, 4-1 H-10), finishing with a kill effiency of .000. Zophi Hendricks led the team with 11 kills and had an efficiency of .139, putting 30-of-36 hits in play.
 Maci Schmitz set 17 assists and also had a team-high 17 digs. Laney Wegner, Savanna Musich and Hendricks added 10 digs each.
 Red Oak had a very efficient night at the net with 36 kills and just five hitting errors in 88 attempts (.352 efficiency).
