Wolves handle St. Edmond 34-7 in district opener

IKM-Manning now 2-3 overall

 MANNING (Sept. 27) -- Senior Parker Behrens set the tone with a 66-yard punt return touchdown Friday night as the IKM-Manning football team opened district play with a 34-7 home win over Fort Dodge St. Edmond.
 The Wolves, who have now won two straight games to improve to 2-3 overall, scored at least one touchdown in each quarter and blanked the Gaels (2-3) until Kase Baker broke loose for a 64-yard TD run with 6:58 left to play.
 IKM-Manning outgained St. Edmond 316-183 in total offense, including a productive 268 rushing yards on 45 carries. Kyler and Amos Rasmussen led the ground attack with 117 and 107 yards, respectively, both scoring two touchdowns.
 Kyler scored on a one-yard run in the second quarter and a 10-yard run in the third. Amos caught a 27-yard TD pass from Nolan Ramsey and capped the scoring with a 40-yard run at the 4:05 mark of the fourth.
 The Wolves played a turnover-free game and forced one Gael turnover when Raine Meneough recovered a fumble. Colten Brandt led the IKM-M defense with eight solo tackles and six assists, including three for losses.
