Woodbine rallies past Spartans

 WOODBINE (Dec. 13) -- The Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton boys fell to 1-3 in the Rolling Valley Conference following last Friday’s 44-39 loss at Woodbine.
 The Spartans entered the fourth quarter with a 35-29 lead but were outscored 15-4 the rest of the way by the Tigers, who were led by 12 points apiece from Cory Bantam and Dylan Hoefer.
 Creighton Nelson paced Exira-EHK with 15 points, six rebounds and three steals as the Spartans shot just under 50 percent from the field but attempted only 33 total shots and seven free throws (6-of-7). Tyler Petersen hit the team’s only 3-pointer and scored nine points, followed by Hunter Andersen with five.
