Blue Oval bound
GLENWOOD- The Harlan Community Cyclones will be well represented at the Blue Oval starting Thursday after a strong state qualifying meet last Thursday in Glenwood.
The Cyclones had three automatic qualifiers, two on the boy’s side and one on the girl’s side. For the boys, in the sprint medley relay the quartet of Foxx Argotsinger, Cade Nelson, Hagen Sorensen, and Jackson Ahrenholtz (pictured above) ran to a second-place finish. Foxx Argotsinger was also an individual qualifier in a tightly contested 400-meter dash where he finished in second.
For the girls, the distance medlay relay team finished in second place with the team of Aubree Wegner, Josie Sonderman, Paige Sonderman, and Julia Heslink (pictured below) to round out the automatic qualifiers for the Cyclones. They later learned on Friday that the 4x200 on the boys side made it as an at-large and the girls also qualified the 4x800, 4x400, shuttle hurdle relay, and Heslink would qualify in the 400-meter dash. The first group of Cyclones to hit the track will be the girls shuttle hurdle relay on Thursday morning at 9. (Blake West, photos)
