Raymond McLaughlin

Raymond (Ray) P. McLaughlin, 88, of Marshalltown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded and private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted with Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown. Jacquelyn Jean Lewis

Jacquelyn Jean Lewis, daughter of Albert Leo and Laura Natalie (Newby) Luther, was born on April 30, 1926, in Columbia, Missouri. She spent her childhood in Memphis, MO near her grandparents Senator John E. and Lois Irene (Milliken) Luther. Jackie graduated from Memphis High School in 1944. During WWII she worked at a hatchery in Memphis and later at an armament company in Chicago.

Leslie Laver

Leslie (Les) Laver, 79 of Rock Springs Wyoming a man who lived for the smell of pine needles and the quiet stillness of a mountain morning, passed away May 14, 2026 returning one last time to the Wyoming wilderness he called home. Born on November 6, 1946, in Irwin, Iowa, to Ralph and Vera Laver, Leslie’s journey took him from the fields of the Midwest to the rugged peaks of the West, where he truly found his spirit.

Jacob Buman

Jacob Jerald Buman was born on February 9, 2007, in Omaha, Nebraska, the beloved son of Jerry Buman and Tonya Burns. He was baptized at St. Mary Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Portsmouth and was raised in the Shelby and Harlan areas. Jacob graduated from AHSTW with the Class of 2025.

Perry G. Kelley Sr.

Perry George Kelley, Sr. was born on March 21, 1938, the son of George F. and Ida (Rose) Kelley on a farm near Panama. In 1945, the family moved to a farm east of Harlan. Perry graduated from Harlan High School. He was active in FFA, where he received the Iowa Star Farmer Award. He also belonged to the Farm Bureau Young People Organization. In 1958, he married Lila Russmann in Walnut.

Maureen Veronica Jensen

Maureen Veronica Jensen was born on July 5, 1951, in Manilla, Iowa, to Vernon and Eleanor (Chrastil) Lueth. She was baptized at the Manilla Catholic Church and attended grade school in Manilla and Irwin.  She graduated with the class of 1969 from Irwin High School.

Rebecca Ann “Becky” Miller

 Rebecca Ann “Becky” Miller was born on December 11, 1960, in Harlan, Iowa, to Lavern and Colleen (Schwiesow) Daeges. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church and graduated from Harlan Community Schools in 1979. While in school, she competed in gymnastics and began working at Harlan National Bank through the school’s T&I program-sparking what would become a lifelong passion and career in banking.

Tyler Powers

Tyler Alex Powers was born on Father’s Day, June 19, 1988, the only son of Thomas and Robin (Alex) Powers in Harlan, Iowa. The local pork producers often gifted families a pork roast to celebrate a new baby, but when Tyler arrived at nearly 11 pounds, they were not prepared for quite that much pork. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan. Tyler was raised near Harlan alongside his four sisters.

Elizabeth Dunn

Elizabeth Frances (Bauer) Dunn, daughter of John and Theresa (Lindner) Bauer was born May 16, 1923 on a farm in Union Township in Shelby County, Iowa. She was baptized in St. Joseph’s Catholic church, Earling, received her First Holy Communion in St. Mary’s church in Portsmouth and confirmed in St. Michael’s church, Harlan.

Keli Rene Hansen

In today’s day and age, one way you can really get to know the heart of a person is to go through the camera roll on their phone. With its ease and accessibility, people are able to take snapshots of all the things they cherish, love, and the memories they hold dear. It has been a great joy to go through our mom’s pictures the last couple of weeks and to have her share memories while she could.

Kenneth Christensen

Kenneth Dale Christensen was born to Earl and Eletha (Petersen) Christensen on August 18, 1938, at their family farm near Irwin, Iowa. At the age of nine he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He attended kindergarten through 11th grade in Kirkman, Iowa, and completed his senior year, graduating from Irwin Kirkman High School. Following graduation, Kenneth farmed near Irwin until 1984.

Judy Arlene Summers

Judy Summers, daughter of Lister and Ercyle Brace, was born July 26, 1939 in Woodbine, Iowa. She graduated from Harlan High School with the class of 1957.  Judy was united in marriage to Charles Summers, Sr. on October 2, 1960, and together they had two sons, Charlie Jr. and Matt. She worked many years at Jacobs Corporation before retiring in 2016.

Russell Breitkreutz

Funeral services for Russ Breitkreutz age 90 of Wisner, NE will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE with Rev. Gregory Prauner officiating. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Wisner City Auditorium. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St.

Dorothy Hall

Dorothy Arlene Hall, affectionately known as “Dottie,” was born on March 14, 1926, to Alvin and Esther (Havick) Davis in Harlan, Iowa. Her mother passed away when she was only nine months old. Dorothy was then raised with the help of Alvin’s parents until he later married Lela Balcom. Alvin and Lela were married over 50 years and shared a loving family together.

Peggy Brue

Peggy Jean Brue was born to Clarence and Nina (Potts) Campbell on January 12, 1937 in Harlan, Iowa. She lived on a farm growing up and attended Irwin Public School where she graduated in 1955. She then attended Commercial Business school in Omaha, Nebraska. Following graduation, she returned to Harlan where she worked at a lawyers office for several years.

Doug Redinbaugh

Douglas “Doug”  Dean Redinbaugh was born on December 21,1949 to Verne and June Redinbaugh in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Doug grew up on a farm outside of Neola, Iowa with his parents and siblings, Verna, Richard, Dianne, Rodney, Les and Mike.
