Harlan First Global Methodist Women give back to the community
HARLAN —The women of Harlan First Global Methodist Church are continuing their tradition of giving back to the community through projects that make a meaningful difference. One recent contribution helped provide a bench at the newly reimagined Grandma B’s Dream Playground in Pioneer Park, giving families a comfortable place to sit and enjoy time with their children.
Each year, the women raise funds through their annual Cookie Walk, with proceeds supporting local community projects and the church’s mission fund, which helps finance its summer mission trip. Through these efforts, the women put their faith into action while making a positive impact on the lives of others.
This year’s Cookie Walk, themed “Coffee Shop Christmas,” will take place Saturday, December 12, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Homemade Christmas cookies will once again be the highlight of the event, available by the box. Shoppers may choose from preboxed assortments or fill their own boxes with a variety of homemade favorites. This year, cinnamon rolls and fruit cups will replace the traditional soup, sandwich and dessert menu. Visitors can also browse the boutique, featuring a selection of crafts and candies.
The women of Harlan First Global Methodist Church invite everyone to attend this special Christmas event. Every purchase helps support local community projects and the church’s summer mission trip.
Enjoy some homemade Christmas treats, find a few holiday goodies and help make a difference in the community.
