RICHLANDS, NC -- David Wager, 58, Richlands, NC, died November 20 in a hospital in Jacksonville, NC.  Military memorial services will be held in Jacksonville, and a memorial service is pending at the Shelby Lutheran Church.    Wager spent 15 years in the Marines Corp.    Wager is survived by his wife, Cindy; sons Josh and Justin; parents Bill and Nelda Wager of Shelby; brother Doug Wager of Shelby; and sisters Dawna Childers of Council Blu

    CORPUS CHRISTI, TX --  Mary Joan Humphreys Shannon, 91, Corpus Christi, TX, formerly of Kirkman and Irwin, died November 18 in Rockport, TX.    Services were held Friday, Nov. 20 at 2:30 p.m.

TALLAHASSEE, FL -- Kjeld Madsen, 72, Tallahassee, FL, died November 4 in Tallahassee.    Services were held Friday, Nov. 13 in Tallahassee.    Madsen is formerly of the Corley area.  He is survived by his wife, Judith L.

    WALNUT -- Gene Moore Eblen, 67, Walnut, died November 19 at his home.    Services were held Monday, Nov. 23 at 10 a.m.

HARLAN -- Darlene Ellen Anderson, 90, Harlan, died November 20 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services were held Monday, Nov. 21 at 10:30 a.m.

OMAHA -- David Alfred Walter, 71, Omaha, died November 21 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center.    Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10-11 a.m.

    AVOCA -- Joan “Jo” Maxine Miller, 84, Avoca, died November 11 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services were held Saturday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m.

ATLANTIC -- Vernon Sandbothe, 82, Atlantic, formerly of the Portsmouth area, died November 10 at Allen Place in Atlantic.    Services were held Saturday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 a.m.

    CORPUS CHRISTI, TX -- Dale Robert “Bob” Shannon, 93, Corpus Christi, TX, formerly of Irwin, died November 10 in Rockport, TX.    Services were held Saturday, Nov.

    EARLING -- Albert “Ty” Joseph Frederick, 91, Earling, died November 11 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Earling with burial in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery at Earling.  Visitation is Friday, Nov. 13 from 3-8 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at the church.  A wake service will be held at 7 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Ruth Verlene Linton, 96, Harlan, died November 11 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    Services will be held Friday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  Visitation was Thursday, Nov. 12 from 4-7 p.m.

    JOHNSTON -- Jan R. Theisen, 49, Johnston, formerly of Elk Horn, died Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.    Services will be held Saturday, Nov.

    COUNCIL BLUFFS -- Darrell D. Dent, 87, Council Bluffs, died at his home November 3.    Services will be held Friday, Nov. 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint John Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs with interment in the Ridgewood Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation was Thursday, Nov. 5 from 6-8 p.m.

    ELK HORN -- Adeline Caddell, 98, Elk Horn, died November 3 at the Salem Lutheran Nursing Home in Elk Horn.    Services will be held Friday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Portsmouth.  A prayer service was held Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Visitation was Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
