    HARLAN -- Ronnie Carter, 70, Harlan, died January 6 at his home.    Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. at Fresh Encounter in Harlan.  A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, Jan. 8 from 6-8 p.m.

    ELK HORN -- Nancy L. Madsen, 68, Elk Horn, died Thursday, Jan. 3 in Omaha, NE.    Services were held Monday, Jan. 7 at 10 a.m.

    HARLAN -- Patricia M. Murray, 69, Harlan, died Tuesday, Jan. 1 in Harlan.    No visitation or services are planned.    Survivors include friends and family.    Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of arrangements.

    WILLMAR, MN -- Laura L. Albert, 63, Willmar, MN, formerly of Kirkman, died Thursday, Dec. 27 at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.    Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. at St.

    Portsmouth - Lucy A. Knauss, 65, Portsmouth, died on Thursday, December 27 at Myrtue Medical Center, in Harlan. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2 from 5 - 8 p.m. with a wake service at 6 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home, Harlan. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary Our Lady of Fatima, Portsmouth, Thursday, January 3 at 11 a.m. with burial in the St.

    EARLING - Vaughn Gross, 64, Earling, died at his home on Tuesday, December 25. Visitation will be Saturday, January 12 from 10 - 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial following the visitation at 11 a.m. both at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Earling. Burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Earling, will be held at a later date.

    HARLAN - Fred Olsen, 79, Harlan, died at his home on Wednesday, December 26. Survivors include his wife, Linda Olsen, Harlan; sons, Chad (Brenda) Olsen, Guthrie Center; Jeremy (Jeanna) Olsen, Omaha and grandchildren Erik Olsen and Ethan Olsen.    Services are pending at Pauley Jones Funeral Home, Harlan.

    HARLAN -- Jay Peterson, 62, Harlan, died December 11 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services were held Saturday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Gene L. Dixon, 90, Harlan, died Tuesday, Dec. 18 in Harlan.    Services will be held Friday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Hancock.  There will be no visitation.    Dixon is survived by son Charvin (Jennifer) Dixon of Brandon, SD; daughter Pamela Dixon of Harlan; grandson Ryan (Eva) Krueger of Glenwood; two great-grandsons, other relatives and friends.
