PORTSMOUTH -- Joseph Carl Springman, 81, Portsmouth, died August 28 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Friday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Portsmouth with burial in the St. Mary’s Cemetery at Portsmouth.  A rosary was held Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. at the church.  Visitation was Thursday from 4-8 p.m.

AVOCA -- Charles Richard Ronnfeldt, 74, Avoca, died August 26.    Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca.  Family will greet friends Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.

    WALNUT -- James E. Tooley, 77, Walnut, died Sunday, Aug. 26 in Atlantic.    Services will be held Friday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Walnut with burial in the Layton Township Cemetery at Walnut.  Friends were asked to call Thursday, Aug. 30 from 4-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Funeral services for Franklin Dale Baughman, 87, Harlan, will be held Saturday, Sept. 1 at 11 a.m.    Baughman died August 18 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    He is survived by his wife, Elsie Baughman, of Harlan; daughters Michelle Falcon of Orlando, FL and Shari (Randy) Kitzmiller of St.

    HARLAN -- Larry D. Wunder, 84, Harlan, died Wednesday, Aug. 15 in Harlan.    Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. at Congregational United Church of Christ in Harlan.  Friends were asked to call Monday, Aug. 20 from 2-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-8 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Violet I. Fiscus, 96, Harlan, died August 19 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Harlan with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Kirkman.  Visitation is Saturday from 9:30-11 a.m.

    OAKLAND -- Everett H. Peterson, 81, Oakland, formerly of Harlan, died August 16 in Omaha, NE.        There is no visitation.  A private graveside service will be held.    Peterson is survived by his wife, Frieda Peterson, of Oakland; daughters Rosina Peterson of Council Bluffs and Peggy (Robert) Engle of Treynor; sons Mike (Jackie) Peterson of Logan, Steve Peterson of Rancho Cordova, CA and Mark Peterson of Oakland; brothers Dr.

    ELK HORN -- Bertha Lee Coffia, 84, Elk Horn, died Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn.    She is survived by her daughters Nancy (Robert Larry Edgar) Gail of California, and Jeana Lee Holley of Harlan; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.    Private services will be held at a later date.    Pauley Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    DENVER, CO -- Clarence George Holtz, 91, Denver, CO, formerly of Avoca, died August 5 at the Berkley Manor Care Center.    Services will be held Monday, Aug. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca with burial in the Graceland Cemetery at Avoca.  Family will greet friends Sunday, Aug. 19 from 5-7 p.m.
