    OAKLAND -- Priscilla Ann Thraen, 70, Oakland, died January 9 at Oakland Manor Nursing Home.    Services were held Monday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling with burial in the St.

    HARLAN -- Mildred M. “Mick” Bieker, 90, Harlan, died January 9 at Myrtue Medical Center.    Services were held Monday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the St.

    IRWIN -- Linda Sue Nordby, 66, Irwin, died January 9 at her home.    Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial at a later date.  Visitation is Tuesday from 9-10:30 a.m.

    DOW CITY -- Charles V. Erlbacher, 68, Dow City, died January 6 at Crawford County Memorial Hospital.    Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earling with burial in the St. Joseph's Cemetery at Earling.  Visitation is Friday, Jan. 10 from 4-8 p.m.

    OMAHA, NE -- Dolores R. "Dody" Johnson, 93, Omaha, NE, formerly of the Avoca and Harlan areas, died January 1.    Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Omaha.  Visitation is Friday, Jan. 10 from 3-6 p.m. at the Danish American Archive and Library in Blair, NE.  Burial of ashes will be at the North Logan Cemetery in rural St.

    HARLAN -- William Duane Burger, 85, Harlan, died Sunday, Jan.

    ALGONA -- Troy Alan Walker, 51, Algona, died January 3 at Kossuth Regional Health Center.    Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca.  Visitation is Wednesday from 9-11 a.m.

        NEOLA -- Alvin Leo Ring, 72, Neola, died January 5 at his home.    Services were held Thursday, Jan. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at St.

    WATERLOO --     Word has been received of the death of Lester Petersen, 73, who died at his home January 3.    He is survived by five grandchildren.    Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca with burial in the Graceland Cemetery at Avoca.

    HARLAN -- Nancy Kay Klein, 72, Harlan, died Friday, Jan. 3 in Harlan.    Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan with burial in the Jacksonville Cemetery in Jacksonville.  Friends were asked to call Monday, Jan. 6 from 3-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.

    ATLANTIC -- Ralph Clifford Fusselman, 94, Atlantic, died Sunday, Jan. 5 at Allen Place in Atlantic.    Services are pending at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan,    Fusselman is survived by his son, Tom (Pam) Fusselman of Harlan; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

    MESA, AZ - A Celebration of Life service for John Christiansen, 75, formerly of Harlan and recently residing in Mesa, AZ, will be held at 11 a.m.

    St. Joseph, MO - Teresa Jans, 54, died on Sunday, December 22, 2019 in St. Joseph, MO.         A graveside service on Friday, January 3 at 11 a.m.
